The Revenew Team

Our theme this year was…definitely tie-dye. All colours of the rainbow, a little funky and a whole lot of fun. A ton of progress too.

Traction & Community

Let’s get right into it, the thing you care most about, how well we’ve been doing.

We will talk numbers, but let’s first talk love. Our community hasn’t been stingy with compliments this year, and yes we do tickle it out of them but you have to admit they all sound pretty authentic:

And now numbers: we’ve tracked about $10bn of payments GMV across all our platforms using Revenew:

Revenew Key Metrics

Why we care about GMV tracked? Here’s why: Every dollar observed and analysed through Revenew means (1) trust in us and (2) gives us new insights into the inner workings of platforms. Knowledge we’ve been able to apply across other users, to make ‘unfixable’ platform challenges a thing of the past for all platforms out there.

This - too - is why we’re doubling down on our community efforts. We created the Revenew Community to foster communication and support among platforms, as some questions are simply best answered by other platform operators. Here’s the thing: The smartest platforms are already using Revenew. Join the community.

Product

It is through this community of platform operators that we have come to realise that though they often have seemingly bespoke setups, each serving unique customer profiles, the challenges our users face are mostly universal:

  • no transparency towards payment processing costs
  • lack of reporting tools (reporting and pricing analysis predominantly in spreadsheets)
  • no unified understanding of their customers and their often diverse revenue streams

We tackled the first two points with our flagship product Clarity, providing platforms with a new way to see their businesses. It looks a bit like this:

A Glimpse Into Revenew Clarity

At its core it attributes all payment fees including IC++ to every single payment and to every customer, providing platforms with a unique view into their business performance, one they all currently - without Revenew - struggle to get.

Getting your margins on every payment, out of the box, taking IC++ pricing into account? Look no further. An understanding of margins and revenue are crucial as a platform, given competitive take rates.

But, what if pricing needs to be changed? Well, embedded payments pricing isn’t just changed with the click of a button. It requires a renegotiation with the customer, agreements and lastly, the effective reconfiguration of the pricing profile. This makes very clear the direction we’re headed in as Revenew in 2025.

Roadmap 2025

You’re reading it here first: Revenew in 2025 will be all about the customer. No kidding. We’re payments folk at heart and we’ve come to a somewhat spiritual awakening:

Payments are a means to an end. And that end is the customer.

You like that? Wait till you hear this:

Customers are the lifeblood of a platform. Without customers, there's nothing to platform.

Like butter.

But seriously, both points are true. Platforms need to care about their customers even more than traditional businesses. Financial tooling hasn’t made this easy, let alone payments players. We’re here to change that. We’re putting the customer front and centre of everything we do at Revenew and we’ve already gotten started:

Revenew 2025 Roadmap

We’re going to keep things a little vague here as we don’t want to spill all the tea just yet, we’ve got to keep things exciting for 2025. If you want to know more about any item on here though, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

But, with all this chat about the customer, payments do still lie at the core of what we do: they’re our atom. It’s only because we are payments nerds, that we were able to get the data right at the core, at the very tiniest detail, such as every single IC++ component. We will continue to evolve the granularity of our payments data and always ensure its integrity.

So really, you should jump aboard the Revenewtion. Why? Well, the smartest platforms already use Revenew. Join us.
